Hey, thanks a lot for posting this. It doesn’t look like there’s any indication in your pics, but no warranty is voided while opening the laptop, correct?
you can see the Asus-UX301LA-Disassembly-7.jpg, if you do not damage the yellow label, you will not lose warranty
Hello ! Thanks for these infos !
I’ve lost one screw, and now the bottom doesn’t fit well… Could you tell me what kind of T5 Torx screw should I get ?
Could you give indications for keyboard replacement on UX301LA? Also which are the difficult procedures? I believe the worst part is the connectors disassembly/assembly, not breaking them… I have the tools but I am not a technician.
its seem replace keyboard is very hard, you should remove many parts, including motherboard
Thanks Chris.
The link included with procedure is not much detailed. Do you have another?
Could not disassemble. The motherboard is very difficult to take out.Is there a service guide for UX301LA somewhere?
Hello,
I want to replace the 2x 256Gb SSDs for 2x 512Gb, regardless of cost. Do you know what SSD cards are compatible with this machine?
Thank you,
the original SSD is Sandisk 128GB NGFF SSD
Hey i just purchased 2 x 512gb ssd card from Korea and replaced them… From there i’m having an issue. how to make it boot from usb?? or external dvd player because i have the recovery disc on dvd
you should setup boot from usb in BOIS, there are many guides in internet, you can try it
did you ever get them to work and how do I figure out which SSD to purchase. Please reccomended a online site I need a 256 gig or bigger, mine has crashed on original zenbook after 1 year 8 months:(
I was not able to fully take off the bottom. something with the hinge. I was a little nervous to just yank on it.
Same problem here. How do i take the bottom off? I took off all 10 screws but can’t find a way to get the bottom off (i don’t dare to use a lot of force..)
the bottom part curves around the hinges, you just need to stick something and carefully separate the two.
My laptop has 2 128 gb SSD’s, one is faulty and I have been Quoted a huge price to get this sorted, please can someone tell me if I can upgrade one to 512gb and leave the other original or do they both need to be same size. I’m sorry if this is a stupid question. Thanks in advance.
Both of mine started dying right after my warranty was up and ASUS told me it would be $708 to fix it. I installed one of these:

It’s been a few days and has worked fine so far with Linux installed. They have the same form factor of drive with more memory too, I just went with the smaller one because it was cheaper an I wasn’t sure it would work.
What type of screwdriver do you have to use to remove the screws?
Torx T5
