Asus K751LX Disassembly
|In this guide, I’ll disassemble Asus K751LX to remove the bottom case, SSD, battery, wireless card, heat sink, cooling fan and motherboard. Refer to this guide, you can upgrade, repair your Asus K751LX.
Remove all screws securing the bottom case.
Turn over the laptop, pry up and remove palm rest.
Disconnect the battery power cable from the motherboard.
The Asus K751LX comes with a 14.4v, 37wh Li-ion battery, Asus model: A41-X550E.
Remove four screws securing the hard drive module.
Sliding it to the right and remove it.
The Asus K751LX comes with a Samsung 1TB hard drive.
Remove one screw securing the optical drive.
Pull out the optical drive.
The Asus K751LX comes with a HL-DT-ST GUC0N optical drive.
Disconnect two antenna cables. Remove one screw securing the wireless card.

Remove all screws securing the motherboard and disconnect all cables connecting the motherboard.

The RAM was soldering on the motherboard. It’s also has a spare RAM slot for user upgraded the RAM.
just so you can have a perfect guide (wich is really great by the way good job) for the hard drive it’s 3 screw to remove (one is already removed when you remove the bottom case of the laptop
Can I install M.2 SSD to this laptop? I see that the motherboard has a place for the SSD but there isn’t a slot soldered there.
There is no M.2 slot on the motherboard.
For anyone who is tinking about SDRAM extension (here a K751LX-TY077T): Opening the laptop needed some time and _careful_ work to not break the case/keyboard. The 2 strips from the keyboard can be detachted by opening the closing mechanism on the motherboard.
There is a 2GB Hynix bar installed (annd 4GB fix moulded). Unfortunately, the bar is on the backside of the motherboard, ie some more screwing and patience is necessary. I managed to exchange it without completely removing the motherboard.
As I didnt found any satisfying information on the web, I will share my experience: This extension worked:

=> now I have 12GB main memory 🙂
Please, consider, that you might lose warrenty, by opening the case, so work very careful…
