In this guide, I’ll disassemble Lenovo ThinkPad T550. Refer to this guide, you can upgrade, repair and clean your ThinkPad T550, or remove hard drive, wireless card, motherboard, cooling fan, SSD and upgrade RAM.
Insert a crowbar between the keyboard and the top cover, released all the snaps.
Sliding down the keyboard, you will find some screws, remove all the screws.
Lift up the keyboard. Disconnect keyboard cable and touchpad cable from the motherboard.
Once the bottom case was removed, you can access the internal parts, including the battery, hard drive, RAM, wireless card, speaker and motherboard.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T550 has two RAM slots, comes with two 4GB DDR3L RAM.
The Lenovo ThinkPad T550 comes with an 11.25v, 44wh Li-polymer battery, Lenovo model: 45N1741, 45N1740.
Disconnect battery connector from the motherboard. Remove five screws securing the battery.
Disconnect the touchpad cable from the motherboard.
Disconnect the speaker cable from the motherboard.

Remove the fingerprint module.

Disconnect the LCD cable.
Disconnect the camera cable.

Remove three screws securing the right side LCD hinge.
Remove three screws securing the left side LCD hinge
Open the LCD hinges, you can find two screws securing the switch board, remove it.
