HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ak000 Disassembly

In this guide, I’ll disassemble HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ak000. Refer to this guide, you can upgrade, repair and clean your HP Pavilion 15-ak000, or remove the bottom case, hard drive, wireless card, RAM, motherboard, cooling fan and SSD.

Remove all screws securing the bottom case, please notice, there are two hidden screws under rubber mats.

I strongly suggest disconnecting the battery before proceeding with the laptop disassembly.

HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ak000 comes with a 15.2v, 48wh/3030mah Li-ion battery, HP part number: 800050-001.

Pull out the optical drive.
Toshiba Samsung SU-208 Super Multi 8X DVD RW DL Burner, hp model: 700577-FC3.

Remove the bottom case.
Under the case, you can access the hard drive, SSD, RAM, wireless card, speaker, heat sink and cooling fan.

The HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ak000 has two RAM slots, comes with one Samsung 8GB PC3L-12800S RAM, so you can add another 8GB RAM.

Western Digital 1TB hard drive, hp mode: 726834-001.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3165 wireless card, 2nd Gen 802.11ac, Dual Band, 1×1 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.2.
HP model: 806723-001.

Remove all screws securing the heat sink and cooling fan assembly.
Disconnect cooling fan cable from the motherboard.

Remove all screws securing the motherboard.
Disconnect all cables from the motherboard.

Yellow: NVIDIA GeForce GTX950 graphics card.
Blue: Micron 5ME77 4GB GDDRWL graphics memory.
Red: Intel Core i7-6700HQ processor.
Green: South Bridge chip.
Purple: Realtek ALC3241 sound card.

Red: LTE IT8987E Voltage Regulator.
Blue: Micron 5ME77 4GB GDDRWL graphics memory.
