HP Envy 15-k000 Disassembly (SSD, RAM, HDD Upgrade Guide)

In this guide, I’ll disassemble HP Envy 15-k000, I will remove the palm rest, keyboard, hard drive, battery, RAM, cooling fan and motherboard. Refer to the guides, you can upgrade and repair your Envy 15-k000.

In my case, the laptop model is HP ENVY 15-k301TU.

Remove ten screws from the bottom case.
Pull out the optical drive.
Unlock and remove the Li-ion battery.

HP Envy 15-k000 comes with a 4 cells, 15V, 48WH Li-ion battery. The HP part number is HSTNN-DB6K.
Battery cells come from Korea, assembled in china.

This HP Envy 15-k000 features a 19.5V, 4.62A 90W ac adapter.

Since there is no service cover on the bottom case, so if you want to upgrade memory or SSD, you have to disassemble the whole laptop.
Turn over the laptop. Pry up the palm rest with a crowbar.

When the palm rest was removed, you could access the wireless card, speaker hard drive and motherboard, but can’t find the RAM, it’s on the other side of the motherboard.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 wireless card, it is support 802.11ac, dual band and Bluetooth 4.0.
The HP part number is 784638-005.

The hard drive adapter

The HP Envy 15-k000 comes with a Seagate 500GB 5400RPM hard drive. The HP part number is 691918-003.

The HP Envy 15-k000 comes with two RAM slots, but not provide spare M.2 SSD slot.
