In this guide, I’ll disassemble Dell Vostro 5460, I will remove and replace the battery, hard drive, RAM, SSD, heat sink, speaker, wireless card, cooling fan, motherboard. Refer to this guide, you can upgrade and repair your Dell Vostro 5460.
Remove eleven screws from the bottom case, pry up and remove the bottom case.
Here is Dell Vostro 5460 bottom case.
Under the bottom case, you can get access to the battery, SSD, wireless card, hard drive, speaker, heat sink and cooling fan.
Dell Vostro 5460 using the 2.1-channel sound system. It is also providing a separate woofer.

Disconnect two antenna cables. Remove the screw securing the wireless card.
Remove the wireless card.
Remove the screw securing the SSD.
Remove the SSD.
Dell Vostro 5460 features a 32GB mSATA SSD.
The Realtek RTL8723AE wireless module does not support Intel WIDI technology.
Since the mSATA interface and Mini PCI-E interface exactly the same shape, so in order to avoid the wrong plug, Vostro 5460 marked interface type on the motherboard.
Dell Vostro 5460 has two cooling fans, CPU and GPU are covered with one heat sink.
Remove one screw securing the cooling fan, disconnect the cooling fan cable from the motherboard, remove the cooling fan.
This Vostro 5460 is equipped with NVIDIA GeForce GT 630M graphics card, the motherboard both sides were equipped four Hynix DDR3 memory, total capacity is 1GB.
