Dell Precision M4700 Disassembly

In this guide, I’ll disassemble Dell Precision M4700, refer to this guide, you can upgrade, repair and clean your laptop, or remove and replace the RAM, hard drive, wireless card, dvd drive, keyboard, palm rest, cooling fan and graphics card.

Unlock and remove the battery.
Dell Precision M4700 comes with a 87wh, 11.1v Li-ion battery, Dell part number: R7PND.

Remove the service cover.

Remove two screws and disconnect the cooling fan cable from the motherboard. You can remove the left cooling fan.

Remove two screws and disconnect the cooling fan cable from the motherboard. You can remove the right cooling fan.

The Dell Precision M4700 cooling fan has been removed.

Remove one screw and disconnect two wireless antenna cables. You can remove the wireless card.
The Dell Precision M4700 features a Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 wireless card.

Here’s two RAM slots.

Pull out the optical drive.
The Precision M4700 features a HL-DT-ST GS30N DVD burner.

Unlock and remove the hard drive module.

Seagate 320G hard drive

Turn over the laptop, remove the keyboard bezel.

Remove the screws securing the keyboard.

Disconnect the keyboard cable. You can remove the keyboard.

Under the keyboard, you can find a RAM

Samsung 2GB PC3-12800S RAM

Disconnect all cables and remove the screws securing the palm rest.

Pry up and remove the palm rest.
