Dell Inspiron N5010 Disassembly

In this guide, I’ll disassemble a Dell Inspiron N5010 in order to replace the motherboard. I also remove the RAM, keyboard, palm rest, hard drive, wireless card, heat sink and cooling fan. More guide you can visit http://repair4laptop.org.

Please make sure turn off your laptop. Remove the ac adapter and battery.

Remove all the screws marked on the bottom case.

Remove the memory cover. You can find two RAM.
Remove two screws under the memory cover.

Separate the clips, the RAM will pop up.

Pull out the dvd drive.

Turn over your laptop. There are four latches securing the keyboard. You must unlock these four latches. Use a straight screwdriver pressed into the latch, you can unlock the keyboard.

When all the latches unlocked, lift up the keyboard.

Please the keyboard on the palm rest, you can get access to the keyboard cable.

Unplug the keyboard cable.

Disconnect the power cable, touchpad cable and light cable. Remove five screws securing the palm rest.

Pry up the palm rest

Disconnect four cables and remove two screws securing the motherboard, you can remove the motherboard now.

Remove four screws securing the heat sink. Disconnect the cooling fan cable. The heat sink assembly can be removed.
