Asus G550JK Upgrade Guide (RAM, SSD, HDD)
In this guide, I will explain how to upgrade RAM, SSD, hard drive on Asus G550JK
Asus G550J internal workmanship is very particularly, the motherboard covered by a lot of cooling stickers, optical drive is also covered by a sticker.
But the upgrade space is not too much, you can upgrade the RAM to 16GB, you can also remove the optical drive and add a second hard drive, but no mSTAT SSD slot.
Upgrade Guide:
RAM: come with two 4GB ram, up to 16GB.
RAM Type: DDR3L 1600MHz.
SSD: you can add a 2.5″ SSD (replace the original hard drive).
Second HDD: support, needs a 2nd HDD caddy.

I am currently using an Asus Rog g550jk. I wan to upgrade my RAM and SSD. Would it cause any trouble such as over heating and what RAM and SSD would suit best . Thank you please reply .
upgrade RAM and SSD will not cause ouver heating, RAM type is PC3L-12800S, SSD type is 2.5″
I got a G550JK and it only came with 1x4GB RAM stick. I guess that’s the difference between the J and the JK. I’ve also read that some come with a 250G SSD. I didn’t get one of those
