Acer Aspire 4740G Disassembly

Unlock and remove the battery.
Remove all screws from the back cover.
You can remove hard drive cover, RAM cover and wireless card cover.

There are twenty two screws on the bottom case.

Remove the keyboard front bezel. You can use a tool such as a card.

The keyboard front bezel was removed.

Slowly lift up the keyboard.

Note: keyboard cable still connected to the motherboard.

Remove the speaker module.

Pry up and remove the top cover.

Disconnect the LCD cable from the motherboard.

The palm rest was removed.

Under the palm rest, you can get access to the motherboard, but the heat sink and cooling fan mounted on the other side of the motherboard.

Disconnect all the cables from the motherboard.

The motherboard was removed.
Now you can access the heat sink and cooling fan module.

Remove six screws securing the heat sink.
Disconnect the fan cable from the motherboard.

Acer Aspire 4740G come with two RAM slots.

Cooling Fan also can be removed to clean the dust.
